I have printed flyers, what now?

Monday, March 22nd, 2010

Business leaflets are great for advertising your products and services and it allows people to learn more about your business but once you have spent the time designing your flyers and getting them printed; what exactly do you do with them? The answer is simple; hand them out everywhere to everyone! Printing leaflets in bulk is the best way to gain interest from them as playing the numbers game is a great way to achieve successful advertising.

Advertising online seems to have taken over the world but do not make the mistake of forgetting to use business leaflets as a means of advertising. Flyers and leaflets can be placed anywhere from community centres and shops to places of work, university notice boards and churches. Even the local laundry or supermarket may have an advertising board for such things. The benefits of advertising with promotional leaflets are that it is cheap, easy to organise and simple to do.

Some places of business may even allow you to advertise through them so if you run boarding kennels for pets you could try asking around the local vets to see if they would allow you to advertise in their window or at their counter. Promotional leaflets are simple to design, print and hand out and using vouchers or pull off tabs on a flyer means your flyer can continue to circulate and you will also know how many customers you are getting thanks to your flyers.

Cheap and reliable printing services can be enjoyed at Print Republic and while the rest of the world is going Internet crazy; you can focus on advertising the good old fashioned way and plug into a whole crowd of people that are not online.

Make people eat more with appetising leaflets!

The recession has hit many small businesses hard and a quell in customer numbers in the restaurant industry has made the need for well-designed business leaflets more intense. A good flyer or leaflet can turn a flagging business around and with competition stiff and many companies struggling in the tough financial clime; the quality of the design and the low cost of the printing are vital. Too many people in business make the fatal mistake of thinking that printing flyers will increase business costs and yield little return but with a good deal on your printing services that doesn’t see quality thrown to one side you can make a massive return.

It is important to make sure quality is not substituted for a good deal as when someone handles you promotional leaflets they will form a sub-conscious opinion of your business. If the leaflets feel good to the touch, i.e. smooth and clean, they will automatically assume your business is worth checking out, without really being aware of why. All this before they have even read the leaflet itself!

Business leaflets speak volumes about your business and without them you have less chance of alluring tentative customers into your once thriving eatery. Make sure they look and feel professional by considering three crucial points:

1)   Make your printed leaflet retainable by ensuring potential customers will not throw it away and forget you by adding a discount or freebie.

2)   Create an action point by including phone numbers, website address and dates for forthcoming events.

3)   Add some urgency. Set a deadline to get fast results by providing offers that go out of date or are only available on a particular day of the week.

Hunt around for a good deal and don’t think quality has to be forgone for a good price and you will soon have people queuing outside the door for a seat at your restaurant. If you are looking for printed leaflets to promote your restaurant fill out a quote request to the right to get a great deal.

Roses are red, violets are blue, make sure you use colour in your leaflets to woo……….

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

Colour is one of those things we take for granted and very often we miss the benefits of using colour with our A5 leaflets. If you look around you will see colour in everyday life and using it properly is vital. A lush, green tree is far more attractive than a twiggy, brown stump and bright red roses are far more appealing than dried up leaves yet we take for granted that a tree is pretty when it is green without really thinking why it looks so good. We should use colour to our advantage to make printed leaflets more appealing to potential customers.

A4 leaflets are also a popular size to use and colour should be incorporated into your adverts according to what you are promoting. Don’t be afraid to use colour even if your service or business is of a serious nature as it can work on people’s subconscious so they find it appealing without even knowing why. If your business involves children then splash bright colours all over your A4 leaflets and if you are a doctor offering your services then you can still use colour just with more of a subtle touch.

Use colour on the edges of A5 leaflets to make a leaflet more attractive or as a backing colour on which to place the text on top of. Think about what colours represent before using them as you should avoid the use of some colours on some printed leaflets. For example, you should avoid green (the colour of jealousy) if you run a dating agency and try to steer clear of red (the colour of danger) if you are offering services such as driving lessons. They all form a subconscious opinion in the minds of your readers that could be as damaging as they can be positive.

Printing Leaflets with WOW factor

Thursday, February 11th, 2010

Being funky, innovative and eye catching should all be considered when you create business leaflets to advertise your product, event or service. Dull leaflets lead to dull responses and being eye catching needn’t mean using garish colours or kitsch designs. You can match your business type with an appealing leaflet design without producing something that is out of context. A flyer used to advertise health related subjects can be serious as well as appealing by using the right colours and language. While a club flyer can be as psychedelic and colourful as you please.

Be sensitive to your potential audience make sure you appeal to who you want to appeal to and forget about being attractive to the masses. There is no point in attracting vegetarians to a barbecue, in the same way you don’t need to be appealing to people that won’t use your business. Spruce up a design by adding a touch of something different. This can be done by using different materials such as sand or cotton wool on your business leaflets but again, make sure that it is relevant to what you are advertising.

For example, if you are a private hair dresser then use a picture of a face on the front of your business leaflets that boasts real hair that customers can touch and if you run a children’s farm or daycare centre use cotton wool in a playful way as part of a picture of a sheep. Funking up a design is the fun part and turning a dull club flyer with pictures of a few people dancing can be done with some glitter and leaflets advertising sales can include money-off deals as part of the leaflet to encourage people to keep hold of them. Whatever type of leaflet you are designing be sure to make it fresh and don’t be afraid to funk it up a little.

Try social networking without a computer

Saturday, February 6th, 2010

Using business leaflets as a form of social networking is easy! The term social networking has recently been applied to those of us who can’t stop Twittering on Twitter or reconnecting with old friends and flames on Facebook as well as a whole host of other social networking websites. But social networking has been around for many years and the internet has simply taken it to a whole new playing level as it has done with many things over the years!

The recession has hit many businesses hard and getting head of the competition has recently become less important than simply keeping above the sinking line. Cheap business leaflets could make a huge difference to your business if you are looking to increase revenue. Large and powerful businesses use leaflets continuously as a successful advertising tool while smaller businesses get left behind as they simply can’t afford to so finding a cheap printing solution enables you to keep up with everyone else.

Cutting back on your company’s promotional leaflet production in the recession will have a negative impact and there are other areas that should endure the cutbacks before your printing pot gets halted. Social networking is all about communication and the beauty of the internet is that your visual communication is right there in front of you but when it comes to advertising a business in person, people will only remember your name, telephone number and business when they actually need to use you which many be days, weeks, months and sometimes years away.

Promotional leaflets are a powerful tool and a good campaign can turn a small business into an enterprise with some clever designs and good distribution. Services, products, events, sales; you name it, leaflets can advertise it! Cheap printing simply makes it affordable to a wider range of business owners and social networking with visual leaflets is invaluable to companies enduring the tough recession.

Printed leaflet ideas for all businesses

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Promotional leaflets vary depending on the type of business that you are promoting but there are a few steps you can follow to make your leaflets stylish and attractive whatever type of business you are in. If you run your own business then you will already understand the importance of advertising and using a stylish design for your company logo, printed leaflets, business cards and flyers will work to your advantage when it comes to standing out from the crowd.

Business leaflets come in all shapes, sizes and designs so don’t be afraid to jazz them up a little to make them more attractive to the eye. Remember to step back from your design and think about whether they would interest you as a customer and work from there. How stylish your leaflets come across as will depend on how well you use all of the information that needs to appear on your leaflets as well as the use of colour, text, shape, page layout and pictures. All leaflets can be attractive if you make sure you are aiming them at people who will be interested in your product or service.

Make your business theme obvious in your promotional leaflets. For example, if you run a clothing shop that specialises in funky teenage wear then use cartoon teenagers drawn in a graffiti style wearing some examples of your clothes but if you sell maternity clothing then use photos of your clothes with a list of sizes that your customers will find helpful. Make sure that your business leaflets are relevant by taking into account your audience when you create a design. Style is all about keeping it relevant as what is stylish to someone looking for trendy club clothes will be attracted to a design far different to someone looking for a Prada handbag.

Leaflet printing: If you offer it; give it!

Friday, January 8th, 2010

There is a wide variety of designs and styles of promotional leaflets out there with many promising you the world, but how many actually deliver what they offer and how important is it to actually back your promises up? There is only one answer to this; VERY! There is nothing worse than seeing a leaflet all jazzed up to the nines advertising something that really gets your juices flowing to make your way there only to be turned away by the 18-year-old staff member who look like they wouldn’t care anymore if you turned up with bells on claiming they don’t know how to put your voucher through the till so you can’t use it!

Business leaflets must only advertise what you are willing to actually provide or you risk alienating potential customers before they have a chance to be a customer! This happened recently with a famous sandwich chain when they advertised the chance for readers of a newspaper to get a £2 breakfast sub for only 40p. Sounds great, right? Wrong, because the offer proved to be so popular one branch got so fed up with locals queuing out of the door with their coupons that they started to turn people away.

Not a great experience if you are on a lunch break and have spent 30 minutes standing in a busy queue with your newspaper coupon. In fact, I will never use this particular branch again out of principle and maybe a touch of pride. Promotional leaflets should only promote a service or product that you are able to deliver so if you can’t give away 40p subs for breakfast do not claim that you can! Business leaflets are an ideal way to advertise, just make sure that what you are advertising is genuine as getting people through the door is pointless if when they walk out they want to slam it in your face!

If you are looking for promotional leaflets for your business contact Print Republic today we can help you from design concept through to printing of your leaflets.

Leaflet printing – Design the ultimate leaflet

Monday, December 21st, 2009

Promotional leaflets are important to the success of your brand as there is little point in developing a product/service without letting people know that it exists. Without the ability to advertise you cannot sell and without the ability to sell what is the point is all of your hard work? Your leaflet much be designed in a way that clearly explains your product/service as well as how they can contact you and purchase your offering.

A border always works well as a way to give dirty fingertips somewhere to imprint that does not have an impact on your information. A title/description of what you are providing should be short and concise plus the all important catchy slogan. Be funny and creative to get people’s attention. Just because they are business leaflets doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with them.

Designing leaflets isn’t that complicated and the most important decisions will be whether you want coloured leaflets, folded leaflets, double or single sided and where to get them printed. Be consistent so if you go for a multi-layered leaflet printed on both sides then makes sure the border, company logo and colouring system is the same throughout to make it obvious who you are and what you are offering. Pictures or photographs work well as many use visual ideas when they create an opinion about something and promotional leaflets are designed to promote; so don’t be afraid to push your offerings.

Bright colours are always eye catching and successful business leaflets will pay full attention to making the brand obvious at a quick glance as well as being relevant to whatever your are promoting. If you run a day car centre for children use photo’s of smiling children playing and if you run a kennels create a funny dog cartoon and place it on the front. A little creativity goes a long way in the world of printing………….
