This is a true story and is quite remarkable… almost 65 years ago to the day, a farmer’s wife sent her husband out to choose a chicken to cook for their dinner. So doing as he was told (as men always do!), the farmer chose a plump young bird and did the deed us townies dread to think about and cut off his head…
… the chicken did what most headless chickens do and ran aimlessly around the farmyard. Later, when the farmer went to pick up his chicken, amazingly he found it still alive and he quickly found a way to feed it with an eyedropper and to make this story short, the chicken lived for another 18 months and became a bit of a celebrity!
Seriously, if you don’t believe me Google “Mike the headless Chicken”!
Anyway, I get back to the point of my email, which is even faced with unbelieveable diversity, it is amazing what some tenacity and determination can do to add to that natural survival instinct we have… before you ask, I am actually a human and this is not a chicken writing this!!
Now at PrintRepublic, unfortunately we don’t have such an honourable job as saving lives (or chopping off chicken’s heads!), but we do work with business people across the UK to help them produce great printed literature and websites to help them promote their businesses.
Our FREE Business cards offer has been a rip roaring success and we have had fantastic feedback and we are working with more and more companies to produce great business identities, fantastic promotional literature and websites that generate leads and enquiries.
If your logo and image of your company needs an overhaul, if your website is old and out of date or if you need to run a marketing campaign to re-invigorate your customers, let us know
We are extending our summer offer for 1 more week so get a 10% Discount off all online orders using Discount Code SummerDISC10 so click onto www.PrintRepublic.co.uk today!
I think I’ve got to go as I seem to have laid an egg!

Leaflet printing is a cheap way to promote your products and services. You can reach thousands of potential customers for just a few pence each. Millions of leaflets are printed each year by companies wishing to connect with customers for cheap.
Although printed leaflets can be cheap at Print Republic the quality of print is not cheap. We pride ourselves in our work and create quality professional business leaflets that meet the high standards you set for your business. By using poor quality leaflets you will create the wrong image for your business.
Printing Leaflets for the First Time
If you are printing leaflets for the first time Print Republic can help you from start to finish, right from the moment you decide you need printed leaflets. Leaflet design can be tricky if you don’t know where to start. We have a leaflet design service that can be added to your order. Our expert designers can help you get the most from your printed leaflets.
What size should a printed leaflet be?
Printed leaflets come in lots of different sizes and needless to say the large the leaflet the more it will cost. DL Leaflets are small compact leaflets with a 99mm x 210mm dimension. If this leaflet dimension is not quite right but you still want something compact an A6 printed leaflet has the dimensions 105mm x 148mm.
If DL leaflets and A6 leaflets do not have enough space for you A5 and A4 leaflets are also popular. The dimensions of an A5 leaflet are 148mm x 210mm. An A5 leaflet is double the size on an A6 leaflet. For the maximum amount of space you can go for an A4 leaflet which has the dimensions 210mm x 297mm. An A4 leaflet is double the size on an A5 and 3 times the size of a DL leaflet.
Deciding what size leaflet to print will depend on how much you have to say if you can say it in a few words a smaller leaflet will be adequate if your leaflets require lots of text then a leaflet of A4 or A5 would be better this will ensure your text is readable by all.

Leaflet printing will help to promote your business to your potential customers. Leaflets are most effective when you create a printed leaflet which is professional and leaves a good lasting impression on anyone who picks it up. You really want your printed leaflets to stand out to people who see them so they do not just walk on by but pick it up and keep it.
This is why the size of your printed leaflet is an important factor. Your leaflets need to be able to fit in your customer’s purse or pocket. Equally you may have your staff distributing leaflets in the street; these leaflets need to be a handy size. Needless to say you don’t want to be standing there with a huge piece of paper in your hand; no one will take your leaflet.
Leaflet distribution is a great way to promote your services whether you hand out leaflets in the street, send them in the post, pop them into letterboxes, leave them in prominent places or insert them into magazines they have been a reliable form of printed marketing for many years.
Leaflet printing is so flexible it is a great way to reach a huge audience. You could print thousands of leaflets very cheap and mail them out to the whole country, even the world.
What is the best way to get the most from your lealfet printing?
Designing a printed leaflet can be a tricky job a lot of thought must go into the process if you want to create an impact. You have a small space in which you need to get your message across. You can print double sided leaflets but you need to make sure your leaflets make sense on both sides. This is because if someone picks up your printed leaflet and starts reading on the second side it might not make a whole lot of sense.
If you are not sure where to begin when printing leaflets you could use a professional designer. Our leaflet designers have lots of experience because they have designed hundreds of leaflets for a range of different sectors or professions. So if you want your printed leaflets to work get a professional design it can make a big difference to your conversion rate.

High quality business cards are an unbeatable way to advertise but it can be tricky to get started with a catchy design. Here are a few ideas to help you to create the best business cards possible as there are a few things to take into account before you get started that may help you to come up with a unique design.
First of all it is important to get quick business cards so use a reliable printing company that offers good prices but also a good level of service. There is no point in ordering 500 flimsy business cards that take a couple of weeks to arrive just because they were a few pounds cheaper! Secondly try brainstorming all the important components of your business and include every detail from what you sell or specialise in through to who your target audience is.
Quality business cards will represent your business so get it all in writing before you attempt to create a design. If you have a slogan then include it on your business cards and if you have a logo then ensure that also appears. Company branding is hugely important in business and so is consistency so if you have produced a website or flyers then ensure the same look and branding is included on your business cards to ensure you have consistent branding throughout all your marketing material.
Quick business cards are a massive advantage as you can’t expect clients to remember who you are if you have nothing to hand over to them. Short of rolling up their short sleeves in the supermarket and writing your telephone number on their hand you must make sure you can pass on your details quickly and easily. Get inspired by simply looking deep into your business and thinking about what you do, who you are, who you are appealing to and take it from there.
At Print Republic we offer a business card design service starting from £35 so get in touch with us for some design inspiration. You can request a quote by clicking the link to the right.

Luxury business cards
Take a look at the below quality business card. This is what professional business cards should look like with its sleek design and play on the name, it looks extremely classy and elegant. This type of design would suit anyone promoting a modern business such as a boutique clothing store or an office based service that should be taken seriously. The plain colour adds to its professional appeal.

Quality business cards
The business card pictured below is a little quirkier and suits a company that is promoting something edgy like an artist or a sculptor. The flip-up character adds a little something to an otherwise plain business card that works perfectly if your business if a little offbeat.

High quality business cards
This business card falls into the high quality business cards category as a lot of thought was put into this design. High quality business cards are not only suitable for serious businesses that are trying to attract lucrative business proposals but they are also about being catchy. If you deal with cloth then use cloth as your base of your card and the same goes for anyone who uses any type of material in their business. For example a hair dresser can attach a lock of hair or a plastic company could use a plastic card and so on.

If you are looking for an ideal business card for your business talk to us. We can help you print and design quality business cards.

Professional business cards can be achieved when you design your own business card as long as you know what information to put on a business card. The design, layout and logo will all go towards making your business card stand out from the crowd.
The most important thing to put on your business card is what you do and a way for people to contact you. You can show people what you do on your business card with a logo or you can use words to describe what you do.
If you are a decorator you may place a logo on your business card like this:

Logo For Business Card
If you work for an organisation it is good practice to put your job title on your business card, this way people will know what your job function is. If you offer a huge range of services it might not be a good idea to list everything on your business card. You could place a link to your website on your business card; this will keep your business card from looking over crowded.
It does not really matter whether your business card has a horizontal or vertical layout. Most business cards use a horizontal layout but vertical can work just as well. The most important thing on the business card is your name this is usually the most prominent thing on the business card. The name on a business card is usually written in slightly larger font than the other bits of information.
The most traditional layout for a business card is a log in the top right or left corner followed by the name and job title with the contact details below. The back of a business card is either blank or has further information regarding the services available.
If you are looking for quality business cards contact Print Republic today, we have in-house designers that can create the perfect business cards for your needs.

We’re mad about business card printing here at Print Republic. We’re your local printing company and like to help however we can. This week we’re talking about colours and there psychological effects.
Business card printing and design is an art and the colours used can have a dramatic effect on the way people view you and your business. This is why it’s important to know which colours to use in order to provide the best possible impression.
Colour psychology is very much part of anthropology. The symbols that colours stand for vary from culture to culture. This is why it’s important to carefully decide which colours to use on your business card printing. You should evaluate your target market, perhaps they are from a certain country or culture and you should investigate what certain colours mean to them.
Gray as a colour conveys reliability and security. It is often seen as being conservative and corporate in terms of business card printing. However if you want your brand image to be vibrant, grey is not the best colour to choose in comparison to red, for example. Grey can be thought of as being dull and bland.
White in western culture symbolizes purity. It is often associated with cleanliness and neutrality. For business card printing it often provides the perfect background to place an impactful or practical design. Due to it being a neutral colour it is a safe choice for most business card designs.
In terms of symbolism black has many characteristics. It can mean death or evil, but as well as this it has the ability to convey power, style and sophistication. It often makes quite an impression when used with white and red on business cards.
Blue is often used for business card printing and is a popular choice for our UK printing service. It is non-threatening and provides a professional and corporate look. One draw back is blue can be seen as a depressing colour and you should carefully consider your type of business when using this colour for your business card printing.
Red as you may have guessed is our favourite colour. We are passionate about printing here at Print Republic and red perfectly evokes passion. It also symbolizes love and energy. In terms of business card printing it works very well in contrast with white and black.
Print Republic is your local printing company based in the UK. If you have any questions regarding business card printing, please get in touch we’d like to hear from you.
